Hi there ,
It's not nice, but I need to confess - earlier this year I committed murder.
I killed a pot plant. Not just any pot plant - one that had been given to me as a gift 😟
Up until now I have had a good record when it comes to caring for indoor plants. In my first job I had about 25 plants to care for. It is tricky working out the likes and dislikes of different plants. You need to think about the light they get, the amount of water they prefer and even how often and how much to fertilise them. Maybe I was just lucky, but all of those plants survived. In fact, some of them thrived.
At home I also had a couple of plants. The cactus was easy to care for. I gave it full sun and minimal water and we had a wonderful relationship - it flowered regularly. My other plants needed a bit more attention, but they grew quite well.
For the last couple of years I have had just one plant, an orchid. It was flowering when I got it and it has flowered each year since. This year it has two spikes of flowers. It seems to like the amount of light it gets and I don't over-water it.
Because of my success with the orchid, I thought the new plant would be easy to care for. Not so! Although I read up about it on the internet, I think I over-watered it. When the leaves started to look sick, I stopped watering it. It never recovered, but just turned brown.
In the end I threw it away - a very sad moment ☹️

Have a fantastic week,
