As promised in my last email, here are the activities you can expect during the Book Fair:

Author meet and greet.

One of the objectives of the fair is to create an atmosphere for authors to meet and network so that they know they aren't alone in the writing world. 😅

Book sale.

This is the main reason for the gathering. For the authors to sell and make money from their books. I love this aspect the most because I love love booooks! 😍

Reading Session & Writing competition for young writers(7-12 years).

The children aren't left out too. They can participate in a writing competition and also test their reading skills. We're making a fun experience for them.

Book Swap + Painted canvas sale.

The book swap is one of my favorite too. Bring books you're done reading to exchange for the ones you want to read. It's more economical because you don't need cash to keep reading more books! And we're including a few canvas painting into the mix this year. We might expand on this one in the next event, God willing. Though it's not a done deal yet for subsequent events.

Author interview.

We're interviewing two authors during the event to learn about their journey to writing their books. This can help up-coming writers to know what it takes to write a book plus what to expect along the way.

Authors' panel discussion.

This panel discussion is going to be on the theme for this year's event. The theme is Identity and Belonging: Books that explore the challenges and triumphs of young Muslims as they navigate their identity in a diverse society.

I'd love to see how the conversation goes with a variety of contributors taking part, including a Clinical Psychologist.

Book Donations.

We also take books for donation for the book swap and to distribute where needed. If you've got new or fairly used story books that are Islamic based, then you can bring them to the fair.
