Howdy pard,

It’s great to see you again. Grab a plate, help yourself to the pork ‘n’ beans, and find a place by the campfire. If you’re lucky I might have a bottle of redeye around here somewhere…

You’ve chosen a great time to drop by. I’ve got a passel of books, novels, stories, and tales, for you to choose from – and all free. There’s enough there to suit anyone. I’ve got some great news about the next Sol Redding western, as well as some gossip about cowboy superstitions. I’ve got an update about Shoshone Chief Washakie, as well as a great recipe for that ultimate survival food, pemmican.

Speakin’ of ultimate survival food, where’s that bottle of redeye I promised you? Here’s to mud in your eye. As my ol’ grandpa used to say, ‘a closed mouth gathers no boots’.

Sol Redding’s next adventure is almost here

I’m super excited to announce that the next Sol Redding western adventure is almost ready to publish! In addition, when the book launches newsletter subscribers (you guys) will get free bonus book content plus a newsletter-exclusive discount price available to no-one else (I promise). More about this next month.

In anticipation, I’ve rustled up an exclusive newsletter-only preview from the next Sheriff Sol Redding adventure. This is from the final draft of the book as it stands today...

The scene: Sol and his partner Abe find themselves in a mess of trouble in the middle of a cattle stampede. If the marauding rustlers don't get the heroes, then the charging longhorns just might... click the link to check it out.

Cowboy superstitions

Strong, silent, lantern jawed, steely eyed – cowboys were (and are) known for rawhide toughness and being absolutely fearless when the chips are down. However, don’t be fooled – Old West cowboys were also known for being as superstitious as the best of them.

While many people don’t pay as much attention today, there are still some old-school cowboys that hold these superstitions close to their hearts. Find out more here:
