Howdy pard,
Move yourself on over there and make some space for a tired ol’ cowboy… ahh, thank you, it’s been a long day. Here, you pass me the beans and I’ll hand you the whiskey.
I’ve got a mess of books in my saddlebags to share, and I heard an ol’ Texan talkin’ about cowboy boots and how they came to be – you’ll find that real interestin’, I’m sure. I can tell you about how the ‘richest city in the world' was once in Wyoming, as well as a mining ghost town deep in the Absoroka Mountains. And, I’ve got a great recipe for cajun-style cowboy beans that will leave your taste buds tingling.
Now, have another whiskey with me. In fact, as my ol’ grandpa used to say, let’s both get ‘as drunk as a fiddler’s clerk’.

Cowboy boots – a history
The cowboy boot story is as long and winding as the Goodnight Loving Trail. In fact, the boots often have more personality than the cowpoke wearing them.
Cowboy boots are more than just footwear – they are a way of life. And no high-falutin’ fancy words or dictionary definition will ever capture just what the cowboy boot meant to those who rode across the Old West.

‘Non-stop cowboy action’
Thank you to everyone who picked up a copy of Redding’s Fandango – the reviews have been great:
“The story starts fast and runs hard. Six-shooters, Winchesters and Bowie knives are the tools of the trade and they get well used. If Sol didn't have bad luck, he would have no luck at all. This story brings the non-stop cowboy action all the way to the end.”
The book is also now available on major ebook retailers - or check out the extra special edition containing exclusive content and a story epilogue not available from other retailers, delivered by Bookfunnel, and readable on any device.

Did you know?
Cheyenne, Wyoming was known as the richest city in the world in 1884 because of its large population of millionaire cattlemen. At the time, the city had a population of about 7000 people.
Ghosts of Texas
I’m proud to recommend a great western adventure that came across my desk – Ghosts of Texas, by Tommie Wendall.
Here’s the story (spoiler-free!):
"Leaving the death and bloodshed of the War Between the States behind him, Martin searches for his lost family. When an old Ranchero, Luis Alvarado, claims him as his grandson, Martin finds himself hated by the ranch hands and faced with an aloof, but highly critical grandfather.
When he saves Filipe Terraza, the son of a rival family, Martin is beaten by Alvarado's roundup crew and left for dead on the border between the two ranches where riders for the Terraza family find him.
As Martin finds peace working for the Terraza family, he learns of a secret buried in the family past that binds his loyalty to them, but when Alvarado's men rekindle the feud and draw Martin back into the blood, violence, and fear he wanted to leave behind in the war and leaving him with the emptiness of dying without ever knowing his true family."
