So what's the story, you ask?

Sheriff Sol Redding faces his biggest test yet when a gang of stone-cold killers raise havoc while on the run from the law with saddlebags full of stolen gold.

Things get personal when the outlaws gun down his only witness in cold blood. However, corrupt officials want their share of the stolen gold more than they want justice, and stand in his way.

When the cutthroat bandits step over the line by threatening the woman he loves, Sheriff Redding takes matters into his own hands.

Will he seek justice or settle for revenge?

I'm right excited about it all - I hope you are too. It's only two weeks away... but if you can't wait until then, here's a sneak peak of the first three chapters of Redding's Ace - just for you - as my way of saying thank you for being a part of the NBW posse: You're goin' to love it!

Phew, now that's out the way, here are some free books, an update about the Red Ghost of Arizona, a look at stagecoach robberies across the West, a look back at an attempt to introduce camels to the American Frontier, and a recipe for cowboy biscuits, every ranch hand’s favorite.

Darn it, I've got to get a move on. Here, have a glass of redeye on me, there’s a bottle over there if you want more. As my ol’ grandpa used to say, ‘never drink unless you’re alone or with somebody.'

The Red Ghost of Arizona

For decades after the Civil War a legend terrorized the Arizona Territory. Settlers, cowboys, ranchers and miners alike reported being accosted by a mysterious blood red beast, ridden by a headless human skeleton. Like countless other legends, this monster would have faded into obscurity – until the day a rancher discovered it was real – and killed it with a single shot.

‘Dust and gunpowder’

Thank you to everyone who has picked themselves up a copy of Sheriff Sol Redding’s first adventure Redding’s Fandango – the reviews have been great:

“I have to say Redding's Fandango doesn't just tell a Western, it throws you headlong into a dust-and-gunpowder storm of vengeance and survival. The grit of the cattle trail, the corruption closing in, and the fight to clear his name make it a story that hits like a well-aimed shot.”

The book is also now available atmajor ebook retailers - or check out the extra-special edition direct from me containing exclusive content and a story epilogue not available from other retailers, delivered by Bookfunnel, and readable on any device.

Did you know?

In 1855, the federal government used funds to buy and ship camels from Egypt. They thought that they would do better in the heat than horses would, making missions and exploration easier. When the Civil War broke out several years later, many camels escaped and bred, leaving hundreds of feral camels roaming the wilds of Texas today.

Did you know?

Stagecoach robberies quickly became a popular way for Old West outlaws and bandits to get easy access to payrolls, bankrolls and pretty much any other type of roll the driver had on board. How popular were stagecoach robberies? Wells Fargo stages were robbed nearly 350 times between 1870 and 1884. Arizona alone had 129 stage robberies between 1875 and 1903. In California alone, Wells Fargo was the victim of 74 stage robberies.
