Confirmation

Nov 09, 2022 7:53 am

Hello, if you are receiving this email, it means that your teenager is eligible to be confirmed in the church. (Anyone from the age of 13 is eligible if they meet the requirements of having done the Alpha Course and have a desire to be confirmed in the faith.)

What does "confirmation" mean? Methodists use the term "confirmation" to mark the first time a baptized Christian publicly "confirms" their intention to live the vows of the baptismal and membership covenants and so becomes a professing member of the local congregation and The Methodist Church.

All who wish to be confirmed must have completed the Alpha Course within the last three months and must not only express with their voice their desire to be confirmed but also demonstrate the fruits of their new life in Christ.

We will hold a meeting with all candidates for confirmation on November 20th at 8:30 in the morning at the Hub, and it is critical that all candidates attend.

Confirmation will take place at the second service in the main church on November 27th. There is no dress code for the occasion, and all applicants will receive their certificates on that day. To that end, I would like to request that you respond to this email with the full name and age of the individual to be confirmed, so that we can make the required arrangements. Also, if you have any other questions, please ask them here.

Please respond to this email even if you have already provided me with the name so that I can keep all of the names in one place.

Overall, we are thrilled to be welcoming you, parents, into this special time in your teens' lives. If there is anyone who would like to be baptized (and who has not been baptized as a baby), we will hold a baptism after the second service on the 27th of November, and you can inform us here if your teen would like to be baptized as well.

You have until Sunday, November 13th, November to respond to the email and let me know the name and age of those who would like to be baptized and/or confirmed.

Blessings

Yury Gaudard
