In the Flow

They just announced that they are opening the gyms next week here in NJ.

It's the best news I've heard in a while.

Let's face it, pumping iron at home just isn't the same.

But the real reason I'm excited is for Sam, the owner of my gym.

The last 5 months obliterated her business.

Instead of bitching or throwing in the towel, she's been serving her community by holding free Zumba/Spinning/Yoga/Steps/You-Name-It classes outside.

She's given us gym members little snippets of much needed sanity and has kept her staff on the payroll.

I can't wait to spend money at her gym.

Hotdamn, talk about building a brand like you mean it.

Sam's my hero.

On the podcast

Alex Brown, founder of Romanticshorts.com, is challenged by the business growing too quickly

Alex is crowdsourcing short romantic fiction and distributing it to a rapidly growing fan base. Since she is doing everything herself, she is uncertain where to focus her time. She has a powerful vision of what she is building, but sometimes gets stuck in the mundane, day-to-day tasks.

Andrew Love - Episode 2 | The Hot Seat

We're in the process of uploading our Hot Seat episodes to Youtube to make them available for people outside the 1%. Please enjoy!

On the bookshelf

Three Simple Steps by Trevor Blake - A great little book that is surprisingly profound. The three steps are indeed simple; cultivate a positive attitude, meditate and set intentions. But there is something about the way that Blake frames these concepts in both his lived experience and a minimum of self-congratulating woo. I got my copy from the public library, quite possibly my favorite public institution.
