Here's something I learned this week about getting better traffic.


Many of us are running ads on facebook and wondering why we get such lousy, expensive results.


People are on facebook to be entertained. They are not there with an intent to buy. We don't know what problems they have, we just spray and pray, hoping to get lucky.


Instead, buy adwords on long tail google searches. Send them to an article on the subject where you can target them through a facebook pixel. Now when they go to facebook, you target just them and they feel like you're reading their mind.


Here's an example: You're a plumber, you buy adwords on "how to unclog a toilet without a plunger", that should be cheap. Drive traffic to an article about 5 ways to unclog a toilet even if you don't have plunger. Now you can retarget all of those people with ads for your plumbing services when they go to facebook. "Is your toilet backed up again?" They will how amazing it is that show up just as their trying to solve this problem they have.
