Why December is not only about Christmas and New Year’s 🤔

In addition to being the last month of the year, December has many important dates you shouldn’t take lightly. Hint: we’re not referring to Christmas and New Year’s!

1) A More Inclusive World 💞

Every year since 1992, on December 3rd we commemorate the International Day for Persons with Disabilities, focused on securing self-respect, rights and a better life for disabled people. This month let us take some time to think about how our day to day life would be different if we had a disability; and let us be grateful for our health and well-being.

2) People Need People 🤝

Being a Volunteer is as easy as sharing your time with someone who is in need. Last December 5th was International Volunteer Day and since we know that nowadays time is very precious, we're sharing with you a way to make a difference without leaving your couch! If you’d like a more personal approach and need some meaningful ideas, check out our Small Acts of Kindness blog, and have a positive impact on someones’ day!

3) We Have the SAME Rights 🌎

We like to believe that we all share the same rights: to life, freedom and safety; this is why on December 10th we celebrate the International Day of Human Rights. Sadly the truth is that this is not a reality for everyone in the world. Your help is needed in many ways, from donations and signatures on petitions for global and local human rights efforts, to sharing and becoming an advocate for this important matter.

4) Our Future Rests in Solidarity 🤜🤛

Helping out someone without expecting anything in return, is like chocolate for the soul and the leitmotif of the International Day of Human Solidarity.

If you are ready to think (more) about others, on December 20th you have the perfect excuse to get started! Karma might surprise you in return 🙊

At loQsea.com we want to do our part too, this is why every month we donate 10% of our online tips to a different local association. Last November, we donated crayons and value-driven books to LibrosLibres, a local organization that promotes reading, for children and adults, with different yearly events and an itinerant library.
