This past Holiday Weekend, was in celebration of the Mexican Revolution!
Did you know?
- Although Mexico’s Revolution began on the 20th of November 1910; since 2006 it is celebrated on the third Monday of the month with an extended weekend holiday from school and work.
- The purpose of the Revolution was to stand up against the dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz, and the inequality between the rich and the poor.
- There are festivities throughout all of Mexico encouraging the national spirit, with parades, cultural and sport activities, and music.
- Female Soldiers also known as “Adelitas” performed vital roles in the revolutionary forces.
