This past Holiday Weekend, was in celebration of the Mexican Revolution!

Did you know?

  1. Although Mexico’s Revolution began on the 20th of November 1910; since 2006 it is celebrated on the third Monday of the month with an extended weekend holiday from school and work.
  2. The purpose of the Revolution was to stand up against the dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz, and the inequality between the rich and the poor.
  3. There are festivities throughout all of Mexico encouraging the national spirit, with parades, cultural and sport activities, and music.
  4. Female Soldiers also known as “Adelitas” performed vital roles in the revolutionary forces.
