I Died Once

It was a long time ago (maybe last year?), and there I was with nothing to do and nowhere to go. There, in my time of utmost despair the dark hand of death stretched out and gripped me in its chilly embrace...of boredom!

#quarantinefeels

So, to stave off the inactivity, I turned to books.

Writing them was the hard part. But reading them is always the fun part. A re-read of Stephen King's IT, biographies on some established names like Gene Kranz or Warren Buffet, and a first-time read of The Name of the Rose.

I didn't quite make it to Sanderson, but that's really a subject for another discussion!

Here's where I introduce a friend of mine and the first book in his space opera.

Why thank you

JJ Mathews' Illiya is the start of his epic work. And if you're like me and always searching for the next hit then search no further.

Fantastically written, Illiya follows the struggles of Taylor, a girl in search of the one thing we all crave, lineage.

I couldn't get enough. So I contacted JJ and asked what he thought of me passing it under your nose to see what you thought. We authors are always needing to satisfy the perpetual urge to both please and be accepted.

He was more than happy, and guess what? You get it for free!

I know how hard it can be to decide whether it's worth clogging up your kindle memory with another book paid with by your hard-earned cash. But now you don't have to. JJ wants you to read it at his expense!
