"To boldly go..."
I wonder if the speaker of those words knew they stood on the shoulders of science? The first rockets, Gagarin, Apollo, and those SpaceX rockets blowing up before leaving earth likely to inspire a generation of memes. It's both funny and inspiring to see.
Liftoff...oh wait
As a sci-fi and fantasy enthusiast, I can't hold back from fantasizing about what's out there. And at the same time, I'm brought back to earth and the wonders we have right here. Fantasy romanticizes the past, while sci-fi dreams of the future. (At least, that's my philosophy).
So where does all this incoherent rambling fall into today's email? Because there's plenty in the world of sci-fi that keeps us reading! We long to see the future, thriving or ravaged, and the sight of distant worlds, both populated and barren.
And here we are. From today to the 30th you can take whatever slice you want from the cake of sci-fi (if you followed that!) Here's the main event -
It's right there in the title; explore!
There's so much to chose from. If you're anything like me, your head explodes from the thought. (Cancel everything else!)
But I've also got to mention a couple of other standouts that couldn't be squeezed in, but good for them because they get their own special mention!
Another great title from Andy Briggs! (See previous email)
And K.D.Mack, another like-minded sci-fi nut who can't stop writing great content. Check it out -
I love diving into new worlds, new people and new problems. It's always thrilling to see the new worlds these guys create and the weird and wonderful people they create (speaking for myself, of course).
Some of my favorite sci-fi comes from every medium; Halo, Star Trek, and Philip K. Dick. How about you? Are you in love with the landscapes of Dune? Or the peculiarities of Asimov? Let me know what sci-fi world you love.
Until next time, have a great read!
