More painting

Went to another Paint and Sip at my local pub last month and this is my latest masterpiece. It's such fun. I couldn't do this on my own, but with instruction, I can produce things I'm very pleased with.

They are doing Starry Starry Nights this month which I don't want to do, but next month it's a huge Christmas Tree, filling the whole canvas, with decorations on. I'm really looking forward to that. This is what we'll be aiming for.

Cookalong pumpkin recipes

At Cookalong last month, we did pumpkin recipes and what a great variety there was. It's a shame supermarkets only stock butternut squash, and watery pumpkins to carve for Halloween. There are so many other types to enjoy!

This is one of the things I do with pumpkin - a coconut and pumpkin soup

and I love this autumnal panzanella too. There's no pumpkin in this recipe as is, but I often include it.

This months Cookalong is on Wednesday and is winter puddings - that will be good tasting all those! I'm going to do Darkest Chocolate Ginger Torte. It's cut out from a magazine and I don't think it would breach copyright to show you it.

Choir

The choir that I'm in has loads of bookings coming in for December and we're busy practicing. Our choir master is away at the moment. One of the many things she does is as a backing singer for Will Young and they are on tour, she'll be back with us next week.

In the meantime 2 of the members of the choir lead us. Sue is less familiar with the backing tracks we use on an iPad and when we have finished a song if she doesn't move quick enough, the next track starts.

Last week this happened and the next track was Tom Jones' Delilah, whereupon the whole choir exuberantly roared out the entire song! So this week, we're going to officially include it in our set list. That should be good!

Here he is in 1968, tearing down a mountain with that voice

What I've been making in previous Novembers

Cream of Mushroom Soup

I have made this with both fresh and frozen mushrooms and either option works really well.

I leave out the spices as I don't like them in this, and I use a splash of whatever cream I have in the fridge.

The Best Brownies Ever!

The 17th to the 23rd is National Baking Week, so here is a recipe for brownies that even the WI asked for the recipe for!

Gorgeously fudgey. Use white chocolate and they are Blondies!

Bacon & Ketchup Sandwich Paste

This makes a gorgeous paste that gives you all the taste of a BLT, without the cost!

I haven't taken any pictures of it - really need to update the post!

An e-book or two

image

I published an ebook for meal plan 1 in August 2021 and am delighted that many people have thought it was worth getting. I repriced it again in June 2022 and it was still holding on, even in these scary times. Now we are in September and prices have shifted again and

I've managed to get my head around WooCommerce so I can feature it on the blog and you can find it here.

I was busy recooking, photographing and updating the recipes for Meal Plan 2 and putting them into an ebook as well. The meal plan was first written in 2013 and still prices up, which is fabulous and that is finally complete. The book is done now too, prices seem to be stable enough to do it.
