So this is why you shouldn't spend a bunch of time making a product before launching it...

I've heard this advice time and time again but it finally kicked me to think about how I could reduce my time to launch.

For the Indian Visa site, I was trying to create this mega-form that would collect all the documents I needed and would automate the entire flow.

I realized this weekend that I should instead try and capture someone's email and find out what type of form they need in the first place. So I created that mini-form last night, embedded it on IndianEntry.com, and launched.

The next step was to open the flood gates by running Google Ads for "OCI Application" and "OCI Application in USA" which gets nearly 25,000 views per month and has no competition...

Well turns out there's a reason there's no competition.

Basically, I need to start from scratch on my user acquisition strategy.

I've brainstormed some ideas on my live-thread about this project.

So yeah, this is a wake up call to stop brainstorming and publish something as soon as possible. Because you need to test your assumptions.

I assumed that I'd be able to be on easy street with Google Ads but my assumption was wrong.

That's why we learn through action. :)
