All the Updates
Happy Spring, friends! Here in Minnesota, we're welcoming the new season with a series of snowstorms... But while I wasn't thrilled to dig the winter gear back out, my 2-year-old had a blast tromping through the slush this morning :)
Before I dive into my major news, I want to say a quick welcome to all our new subscribers!! The MEGA Indie Romance giveaway was so much fun - I loved seeing my book up there alongside so many amazing authors! If you enjoy light, fairy tale inspired fantasy with a sprinkling of faith, adventure, and clean romance, then you're in the right place! I send updates roughly once a month, and with three books coming out later this year there will be plenty to talk about!
So about that big news...I've signed on with Monster Ivy Publishing for my Tales of the Mystics series!!!!! Eeeeep! After finding out in January that I would be getting my rights back for Common and Traitor from my original publisher, I was overwhelmed and a bit discouraged but also excited about the new opportunities that self-publishing would bring for my books. But just as I was making progress in that direction, the owner of Monster Ivy Publishing reached out. She loved Common and wanted to chat about re-publishing my books! We had such a great talk, and I came away convinced that Monster Ivy would be a fantastic new home for my Tales of the Mystics series. They are so enthusiastic about my stories and are really passionate about getting quality books into the hands of lots of readers. I'm so very grateful that God was busy preparing this new home for my books even as I set out in a different direction, and I can't wait to see where this new partnership will lead! Stay tuned :)
In other fun news, it's time to start sharing tidbits about one of my secret projects! I'm thrilled to announce that the title of the story I've been fondly referring to as "Project Quest" is...A Noble Purpose! I love that it fits my story on multiple levels, and I can't wait for you to see the gorgeous cover that goes with it!! I can also reveal that it's part of the Cornerstone Series, a set of clean, non-magical fairy tale retellings that will start releasing this fall! More to come soon!
Speaking of my secret projects, sadly not a lot of writing progress this month since I've been busy getting up and running joining the Monster Ivy team (plus a ton of school activities for my kiddos). But A Noble Purpose is up over 20,000 words, and I'm really hoping to finish the first draft next month!
- A Noble Purpose / Project Quest: 20,200 words (out of 25,000 words)
- Project Dragon: 9,000 words (out of 30,000 words)
Instead of sharing from one of my new projects, today's quote is a flashback from Common to celebrate the new home for my Tales of the Mystics series:
I wish each of you a very blessed Easter (and a fun spring break, if applicable!), and I can't wait to connect again in April! Whether you've just subscribed or have come along for all my writing ups and downs of the past few years, I'm SO grateful for each of you and would love to connect!
Book Spotlights
I always enjoy a good Sleeping Beauty retelling, and Waking Roslyn looks absolutely lovely! You can preorder now so it will be waiting for you when it releases on April 11th :)
A lady whose life is being threatened.
A servant who’s been trained to protect.
Can he teach her to defend herself against those who threaten her life?
A story about overcoming prejudice and choosing love, this deeply romantic Sleeping Beauty retelling highlights the joy of finding someone you can rely on and choosing them above all else.
Last month I shared about the Sacrificed Hearts series, and this one releases today!! I've been excited to read Mask of Deception and Sacrifice ever since I heard it was inspired by the Phantom of the Opera. And doesn't that cover make you swoon??
If she can remove the monster’s mask, she will earn her freedom…but failure will cost her life.
Thirteen years ago, Princess Fiona fled the bloodshed within Ravenwood Castle. She has no desire to return to the place of her childhood nightmares, especially not as a prisoner locked in chains. Using the power of illusion, she glamours her appearance to conceal her royal identity, hoping that her facade won’t crumble before she can escape.
When the usurper king forces her on a deadly mission to subdue a wild man terrorizing his kingdom, Fiona must earn the trust of a masked monster who uses his sharp tongue and shifting personalities to keep her away. But the longer she’s with him, the more she sees beyond his disguise and succumbs to his charms.
With her life on the line, the last thing she needs is a distraction. But when he offers her another path to freedom, will she sacrifice everything for him?
Have you heard about the Hope Ever After series yet? These GORGEOUS books are all uplifting fairy tale retellings that will raise money for Operation Underground Railroad to rescue children from exploitation and trafficking. Three of the books are already available, with the rest coming soon!
