My friends!!
How has 2025 been treating you so far? It's given me the message loud and clear that apparently this year will fly by just as fast as 2024. Yikes! We had an especially chilly few weeks up here but are now enjoying a brief glimpse of spring. My kids can't wait to stop at the park today for the first time in months! But I know our cold weather was nothing compared with the challenges and natural disasters many families are facing - never hesitate to let me know how I can pray for you and your loved ones.
Not a lot of writing updates this month, but exciting things are coming in February! Are you familiar with National Tell a Fairy Tale Day? Stay tuned for my next newsletter to find out how I'll be celebrating with a group of fellow authors of clean fairy tale retellings! Think games, character quizzes, sales... I can't wait! If you follow me on social media, some teasers will be coming over the next few weeks :)
My October release, A Noble Purpose, kicked off the Cornerstone Series - a set of standalone Christian fantasy fairytale retellings. But did you know we're also putting together a short story collection related to our Cornerstone stories?!? Here are a few hints about my story for the collection, A Noble Beggar:
- The two main characters were mentioned in A Noble Purpose but never made an appearance.
- It features cameos of certain princesses and guards from A Noble Purpose who you might want to spend more time with :)
- It's a retelling of King Thrushbeard.
I've been so happy with how this story is coming together, but I still need to finish editing! Meaning I need to keep things short and sweet today since the collection releases on Feb 18th. Click on the graphic below or this link if you're interested in joining our team of advance readers!
But before I go, I wanted to quick mention the bittersweet news that the Intertwined Tales are complete! Which ones have you read so far? I'm thrilled the books are all available, but sad that the project is over. Such a cool idea and amazing group of authors to work with! I need to spend some time this year focusing on my Tales of the Mystics series and a yet-to-be-revealed project, but I love multi-author series so much that I already have a few more in the works for future years!
Thanks so much for spending time with me today! Have a lovely February, and I'll see you next month with more fun updates!
Book Spotlights
Have you read any of the Into the Enchanted series yet? This Rumpelstiltskin retelling by Nellie Peters sounds absolutely epic, and I'm so in love with that cover!
A noblewoman longing for freedom. A soldier drowning in misfortune. And a tragedy that could destroy the kingdom.
A Little Mermaid retelling with dragons? Combined with some steampunk / gaslamp flair? Sorry if I'm drooling... The Siren's Gambit by Kimberly A. Rogers doesn't release until this summer, but it's available for preorder!
Her song wasn't meant for a sailor with kind eyes...
The Twelve Dancing Princesses is one of my favorite fairy tales, and Suzanna Fowers' retelling sounds amazing! Warfare, sorcery, clean romance - what's not to like?
Hereafter, he must choose whom he serves—-the crown or the only woman he has ever loved.
Isn't this cover stunning? The Strike of the Red Horseman features enemies-to-more romance, a band of female warriors, an ancient prophecy...and it releases next week!
A warrioress with a wounded heart. A man seeking to destroy evil. Can love protect them against all odds?
