I thought last newsletter was going to be a whopper for you, but it seems we are just on a roll again!

quick reminder:

• Oct 28 - Author signing at the Madison Public Library in Madison, AL 12-1. I'll have books to purchase and goodies or bring your own and lets chat!
• Anthology - From the Arcane: you can preorder! The Blade of Severed Bonds is a little novelette in the Smoke and Shadows world and is about the origin of the Veil Scholar’s blade! If you aren’t interested in the whole anthology, this story will have its own release come Feb/Mar 2024

BIG NEWS #1 - PA announcement

I am so thrilled to announce that I am welcoming the lovely Alyssa (IG: @catsandbookstacks) on as my PA! This lady has already been a gift, taking over some non-writing stuff for me so I can write during naps and spend a little more time with Violet during the day.

From Alyssa:

Alyssa (she/her) is a public library assistant in Alberta, Canada who loves spreading the word about books! As a voracious mood reader of many genres, Alyssa can often be found smothered in cats on the couch or gushing about her latest reads to anyone who will listen.

Supporting indie authors as a reader has been an absolute pleasure, and she is grateful to now have the opportunities to help authors on their end whether that’s with social media, marketing and as a general hype person.

There is nothing closer to her heart than pairing a reader with the right book. Ya’ll are absolutely sleeping on the Smoke and Shadow series! *wink wink nudge nudge*

BIG NEWS #2 - Smoke and Shadows is getting a new look!

Holy smokes, when I tell you Alyssa has already kicked my butt into gear, I was not joking.

The Smoke and Shadows series is getting a facelift.

Yeah, this lady grabbed me (gently but firmly) by the cheeks and said “WHY ARE YOU SLEEPING ON THESE COVERS”.

The answer was - I was terrified of sharing my own art.

And so began a very full weekend of the two of us going back and forth and making sure the covers were up to par and actually included my name unlike the original mockup. So, if you can’t wait until the next newsletter to see these beauties, join my street team! Help me launch these babies!

Yes, this means if you filled out the previous ARC form, I'm going to have to ask you to do this again. I AM SO SORRY. I was not prepared to bring Alyssa on board so quickly (she's a rockstar) and so I was trying to manage all that myself and I know it was messy. I promise, this is the last time.
