HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! We started out strong with tornadoes one night, snow the next (followed by a loss of power for 44 hours). 2022 did not mess around when it came knocking. All is good now on that front, minus losing a week's worth of food. The cats were definitely more snuggly those cold hours than they've ever been.

I'm definitely not going to take 2022 lying down, though. I've got some plans for the first half of this year (as in, before May), like finishing the prequel to The Curse of Broken Shadows (title to be announced soon), finishing Star Supernova, and having a baby. So, you know, nothing big or anything. After that, things are up in the air so I'm being loose and aiming for 100 books read this year. Last year I hit 101 from May-Dec, so I think this is pretty chill for me.

What are some of your goals for the new year?

This week on the blog:

My word of the year - every year I pick a word as my mantra and this year it's a good one. See how I'm shifting from 2021's word (Growth) to 2022.

Outro:

I have been going crazy planning in my Passion Planner with all the baby stuff going on. We've done a lot of setup after getting a lot of hand-me-downs from friends (crib with my old bedding, clothing put away, cleaning the closet out, moving my desk around so I can keep an eye on her when she comes, etc), so it's been a lot of work and less writing. But this week I'm finally back on schedule and I'm really excited for how things are going with the writing! Having some time off gave me the chance to think about the stories and perfect them, so when I sat down to write, it came so easily. Now I get to write while the cats sniff around the crib and wonder why I hid all the stuffed animals they tried to disembowel.

Shoot me an email with an update on how 2022 started for you if you want or come hang out on social media!

Sending you love, kindness, and peace for wherever you are right now.
