IT'S ALMOST OCTOBER.

Did spooky szn already start for you? Or maybe you prefer the cozy - sweaters, pumpkin spice, and cottagecore aesthetics. That's more my jam, except it is still disgustingly hot (for reference, I think anything over 60F is hot) so I can't break out the sweaters yet.

I've got a super special cozy over on Patreon that is FREE - just a little dragon tease for you, because we loooooove the idea of Cason getting a dragon. It's part of a fun little story swap I'm doing with some other cozy fantasy authors, so go check out those stories!

Employee of the Month:

You know what, I'm giving myself a pat on the back because I SURVIVED SEPTEMBER. TBH this deserves a very large reward. Maybe a raise. If only I could give myself one... so I'll settle for the EOTM award. I've got less than two chapters left to write before TWOSF is finished and then I can finally move on to edits.

In actuality, hubby is the EOTM because he gave me a few extra hours of work over a few weekends to allow this book to get so close to finish. Also, it was kind of his birthday this week, so I guess he's old and probably needs the recognition. No, I'm not just saying this because he reads my newsletters, either.

Sadly, that means Violet is the disaster of the month. It's not her fault those sharp teethies are coming in and she needs extra soothing and cuddles. Naps either didn't happen or happened on my lap, and we had several early mornings (talking 3:30AM) and lots of tears. Poor baby is sort of back to normal, but we are still struggling. Please enjoy this photo of our disaster living room. And yes, that is a softball bat. Normal 1yo toys in this house.

WIP - The Wings of Shattered Fire:

i mean, duh. who doesn't do this?

She lifted the dagger, bringing the hilt to her line of sight as if she were trying to position herself. Another small shift to the left and she gave a satisfied nod. “Here was where Ruby and Neitan shared their first kiss.”
“Who?” Cason mouthed at Elias.
He rolled his eyes. “Her favorite Valisean romance book.”
The fire wielder chuckled. Of course she would have memorized the exact place where fictional characters had shared an intimate moment.

ARC signups for The Wings of Shattered Fire are still available here! Because this is book 2 in the series, it will be a requirement that readers have finished and reviewed book 1 in order to get book 2. So, I'm putting this link and awareness out early so you have time to go read and review The Curse of Broken Shadows in time for these ARCS.

*it is not required that you have read or reviewed The Bones of Crystal Sand for this ARC.

**I am looking to send ARCs hopefully mid to late Oct

question for you.

I'm actually curious. What's your favorite fall drink? I'm not ashamed to say I love a good pumpkin spice, but what I'm really waiting for is the caramel-brulee latte that comes in the wintertime.
