My embarrassing oversight that will have me laughing into next year

Beta Readers save accidental incest:
Yeah, you gotta hear this story. I bring myself to laughing tears every time I think about it.
I have a book out for beta reads, as you guys are aware. It’s technically book 4 in a series but is also a spin off. You don’t have to know the original characters to understand this story.
HOWEVER, that would have been incredibly convenient in this case.
My main character Kiya is talking to her Uncle Glitch... except I forgot to actually mention he’s not her biological uncle until the second chapter... AND THEN FIVE MINUTES LATER KIYA GOES AND MAKES OUT WITH GLITCH’S DAUGHTER ISOBEL BECAUSE THEY ARE DATING.
“Uncle” Glitch is actually the best friend of Kiya’s parents and that’s the type of relationship they have...
Yeah, I unintentionally freaked my beta reader out because she 100% thought I wrote a story about two cousins canoodling.
I never -NEVER- would have noticed this. That’s one of those things that just goes right over the writer’s head because you’ve been involved in the story so long.
Moral of the story: beta readers save accidental incest. I’m so, so sorry....

Cover Reveal!
Okay, I promise I'm actually writing things and not just obsessing over my new Blue Star spin off... To prove it, I wanted to share the brand new cover for book 8 in the Warrior Series!
I still don't have a date set for release. I'm really sorry. But I finally had a breakthrough on a scene that required a bit of reworking so I'm going in the right direction!
