A bookish update - CROWN

How about celebrating Pride with some updates about CROWN! That's The Crown of Fractured Darkness, if you're still catching up with the Smoke and Shadow series, the final book in the trilogy (okay, it's book 5? idk it's the third big book, then there's a prequel and novella smooshed within. don't come at me).

We've officially surpassed the draft 1 halfway mark! If you're tracking words, that's 100K! My goal for this initial pass is 200K because I'm a chronic underwriter. Typically, my settings and descriptions are minimal in draft 1 and then flourish more in draft 2.

Here's the thing about writing series conclusions that I've learned about myself...

The first draft is my messiest draft in the entire series.

There are a lot of plot points that need to be wrapped, little easter eggs solved, and a lot of fact checking to do. Not to mention, I've woven several additional storylines into this one that also need to be made up nice and pretty so I don't have you running at me with pitchforks. I've already had to go back and add a few chapters while they were fresh in my mind, and I absolutely HATE writing things out of order.

But it's all necessary, and I'm already so so proud of this one!
