Ya know, I said this last year, too. I had all the plans, but first/second/third trimester knocked me out of the loop... and so did fourth.
Honestly, any mom who works after having a baby is seriously a superhero. I bow to you.
Basically, 2022 flipped my life upside down, and I've had to take a hard look at what I'm capable of doing writing-wise while I stay at home with a curious and crawling baby.
Here's the good news: I'm still writing and I have no intention of stopping. I have stories in my head and I am working so hard to get them to you.
What that means: me working hard to get those stories to you takes a lot longer than you (or I) are used to. I can't churn out the same word count I did before between lack of sleep and a growing child. I can promise you that the sequel to TCOBS is just as high quality, but it takes a bit more time to get those words written when I can only sit down for 10-15min at a time to write. Still, I have lofty goals for myself and I am pushing my limits every day to get you guys something special.
Over on Patreon, you can get a more sneaky look at what I have planned for this year before anyone else. It's pretty fun, especially because I'll be announcing the title of the TCOBS sequel there in the next couple months.

And this last one is seriously me every time y'all leave a review on one of my books. It makes my entire day, which is quite nice when I'm running on 4 hours of sleep and a dozen cups of coffee.
Employee of the Month:
Violet is once again the employee of the month. She learned to crawl, climbs everything, and is finally getting the hang of hand-eye coordination to eat solids.
Disaster of the month: Mando (dog) has a million beds in this house but chooses to hide under my desk and knock power strips loose and run the baby over when he tries to escape.

Question for you: Do you have a word of the year?
My Answer: My word of the year this year is CREATE. Last year, I had to give myself a lot of grace when it came to my goals because of pregnancy and the unknown of new baby. This year, even when times are tough and I'm struggling, I know how important creating something is to my mental wellbeing. From planner videos to writing to other projects, creating is my goal to keep myself in good spirits and having fun.
Sending you love, kindness, and peace for wherever you are right now.
