Happy February!


This one is going to be a whopper. I've got a vacation planned to go see Notre Dame softball (my alma mater) play in San Diego (my hometown... homecity?) and take Violet on her first plane ride (panic). I've also got tons of writing to do after getting through a chapter on book 2 that I hadn't entirely planned but needed to write as the story and characters demanded. With that out of the way, I got to a fight scene and the words started flowing! Thank goodness Violet behaved (read: napped) the entire time my fingers were clacking.

Employee of the Month:

Mando gets the honor this month for being tolerable on walks and being patient with a baby who slaps him, tugs his fur, and climbs into bed with him.


Disaster of the month: Stormy (f, cat) has decided to howl in the middle of the night... so loud that she disturbs Violet in her room. In fairness, at least Stormy is scaring away any ghosts we might have in the house.


AU snippet - Drunk Cason:

I thought I'd tease you guys with an alternate universe story that I write over on Patreon. You guys can get the whole thing over there and have some extra fun with your favorite characters. And, if you're in it for the steam, February's prompt is a spicy scene ;)


Suddenly, Cason jolted up from his seat, wobbling on his feet. “Oh my gods!”
Brela lifted on her toes, excitement sparkling on her features as she bounced. “What?”
“Dulphi,” he whispered, his eyes dazed as he stared over her shoulder toward the pit. “I wanna play lightning with Dulphi. Right now.”
She snorted as he stumbled past her, pointing toward the vaarasuxa pit and shouting at Lenni that he was going to also feed her dinner because she was growing and he wouldn’t have her starve. Lesnibhol shook off Brela’s attempt to follow, promising she wouldn’t let him fall in before shouting after the dragon that he was spoiling the little one.
