Book Releases, New Chapters, and NaNo Sprints

Welcome to your first edition of "Laura takes on NaNoWriMo", where you see just how insane I really am.
NaNo Sprints
- Day 1: 10,418 words
- Day 2: 6,776
- Day 3: 7,727
- Day 4: 7,208
- Day 5: 2,740 (migraine days are no joke)
- Total: 34,869/50,000
Keep in mind the daily word count to hit 50K is 1,667 words. This is how I like to do things. And, honestly, it's actually a pretty sound first draft. There are some rough sentences, of course, but the plot in general hasn't steered me wrong yet. There's still plenty of story left for that to happen.
Book Releases
The Fall of a King is out on TUESDAY, NOV 10. I'm really excited. You guys can still snag the preorder now, especially because I've dropped the price of book 1, The Stolen Lives, because life is crazy and I want to give you guys some escape reads. There's a deal below that can get you the first four books in this series for just $0.99 so jump on that!
I've also set up the preorders for books 5 and 6 in the series, which you can find on the series page. Avoid the blurbs and click that preorder if you want to be surprised by the events!
New Chapters:
Soul Collapsed - You can read new chapters of Soul Collapsed now available on Wattpad! These are 100% free rough draft looks - a great example of things you can read ALL THE TIME if you join me on Patreon!
Here's a look at the action from Kiya, chapter 4.
Hot air tickled my neck, but the trees around me didn’t move. I narrowed my eyes and elbowed backwards, connecting with something soft.
“Ow!” Declan became visible in the bushes behind me, holding his stomach. Good thing he wasn’t much taller than I was or I would have hit something else. “Damn, Kiya. I thought I was quiet this time.”
I rolled my eyes. “You were… this time. Your breath gave you away,” I said, reaching out as I tugged the thin, blond hairs on the back of his neck.
“No fun,” he pouted, scratching where my fingers had been.
“You try to scare me at least once a week, knowing I hate it, but also knowing I’ve caught you every time. It’s no fun for me either.” He just shrugged and started walking away. I jogged to keep up. “Where’s Iz?”
He pointed next to him as yellow sparks appeared in the air. “What’s with you girls and spending so much time on your hair?”
Isobel jumped out of her portal, her blonde curls bouncing effortlessly behind her. She readjusted her skirt and tightened her backpack straps as the sparks disappeared.
“Because if I’m going to spend the day next to Kiya with her perfect… everything,” she said gesturing to all of me, “I have to stand out somehow.”
I shook my head as Declan groaned. “I regret bringing it up.”
“Because you don’t want to think about your sister stealing all the girls away from you?” I asked.
He elbowed my side, shooting me a glare. “Because that doesn’t stop the guys from still talking about her.”
I grinned at Iz. “I think he’s jealous that you’re the hotter twin.”
She winked. “You know it.”
“Gah!” Declan shouted into the air, frustrated. “Please change the subject away from the attractiveness of my sister.”
Hairballs Comic:
I'm still waiting for this to happen... It'll hit me eventually this November. I'm just hoping it happens after the 50K mark...

Outro:
This is the first time my husband has seen me in my prime NaNoWriMo state, especially because he worked from home the first few days this week. He hasn't said anything about me making faces at my computer, but I'm sure he's just being polite. Yeah, I like to contort my face into whatever action my characters are doing. I told you I'm a bit insane.
