Life news: I just got back from vacation where I took a mini break from writing TWOSF. Allowing some time to let the story breathe and my mind to write a few things that are just for funsies for myself was really really nice. Now, it's back to the grind with a cat in my lap and tons of words being written.

Cason calmly picked at the threads of his black shirt. In all his years, the darkest color he’d worn was a midnight blue, but even that had been more blue than dark. Most uniforms had been white—easier to distinguish the royal insignia of Severina or the symbols of the temples and the Elite. Easy to blend in, just as he’d been taught. This black was… new. Despite the thought that such dark fabric was perfect for hiding in shadows and lurking unseen, he felt, for the first time in his life, visible.
