It's PREPTOBER! For those who don't know, November is National Novel Writing Month, which means October is lovingly dubbed Prep-tober. It's the month where participants prepare for writing 50K words in November. Now, in the past four years I've taken on the challenge, I've written a book in the Blue Star series. This year, however, I've got a bit more going on in life (hello new baby). So, instead of trying to tackle a 'new' book, I'm going to be trying to add 50K words to the second book in the Smoke and Shadow series. It's coming along but that extra motivation in November will be great.

Luckily for me, the book is already 'prepped' so October isn't as preppy as it has been in the past. Still, I love the excuse to do more writing and dedicate time to my craft!

Patreon has a new tier! We've got WIPs, alternate universe stories, phone wallpapers, and more. New chapters for book 2 in the Smoke and Shadow series are posted 2x a week!

I've also started doing weekly planner videos over on YouTube to help scratch my creative itch when my brain can't handle writing.

Question for you: Do you let your friends borrow your books?

My Answer: Ok, my normal answer would be no. I don't let my books leave the walls of my house. As a control freak, I don't like the idea of my book out in the wild getting grimy hands on it, pages folding, or being torn/ripped/damaged. However, I have allowed my husband to pick up a few of the books I own (I have snapped at him for using an unconventional bookmark that wasn't flat and could damage the book). Only once did I allow someone to take a book out of my home because it was a proof copy of my own book so I didn't mind it getting damaged. Never would have done it otherwise.

Sending you love, kindness, and peace for wherever you are right now.
