WIP - TCOBS prequel:

Oh, I think our two assassins might have a little problem... For those who have read The Curse of Broken Shadows, you know what comes next...

Shouts and a few screams, followed by glass shattering cut off the rest of her sentence. It only took them a second to locate the direction of the shouts and see the spray of sand exploding from the ground. The last place they wanted to be hearing those sounds.

Brela let out a huff. “You have got to be kidding me.”

Sure enough, a large vaarasuxa jaw burst from a pit, followed by what sounded like a lot of glass crunching in its teeth.

“Is that the suxa we just caught?” Emril asked, blinking at the monster now clawing its way out of the pit.

“Too small. That’s Ceirdephal,” Brela grunted.

He let out a sigh. “Well, that’s not our problem then.” He glanced down at her with a raised brow. “That’s not our problem, right?”
