TITLE REVEAL! Okay, I'll preface this by saying that I'M SORRY but I can't provide a pub date for you yet. Having a baby and being a full time mom has changed the pace at which I can write. I feel awful about not getting this to you in a timely manner because I have high standards for myself (thank you former athlete perfectionism life). I know the story, I am excited about it, but getting the time to write uninterrupted is very very difficult. I promise I'm still working. I promise I'm going to deliver the best possible story for you.

In the meantime, I read Ice Planet Barbarians so you don't have to. I had a lot of fun with this video. These videos are things I can do with my creative urges without needing the full brainpower that writing requires (and many times, Violet is involved!)

Book 2 in Smoke and Shadow:

Once again, I have gotten an absolutely STUNNING cover from the super talented Angelee Van Allman. She has brought this sucker to life! Buuuuuut that reveal is for another day. Still, I can tease you with the TITLE that I have been sitting on since the idea of book 1 first came to me.

The Wings of Shattered Fire

Oh, yes, all the vibes you're feeling? It's gonna be good. I am beyond excited about this book and what I have written so far is getting really good reactions from my writing group.

How about a teaser to go with that title reveal??? This scene got reeeeeal emotional to write, but it is powerful.

Cason blinked, twisting his head to look at Brela. Her head was tilted toward her lap, looking as if she hadn’t meant to speak or possibly wasn’t aware she had. “I don’t… what does that mean?” 

“You came."

Question for you: Of the characters in the smoke and shadows series, which are your favorite? What's one thing you are looking forward to in the following books?

My answer: Without spoilers, I'll tell you that Cason has absolutely been my favorite to write. He's grown so much since the first book and it's really fun to see more scenes from his perspective. I can tease a little bit that you might have guessed from the title - this book shows more of his past and the path that led him to Serill and the band of assassins. While all five characters still get their time to shine, book 1 followed Brela a little more closely while book 2 focuses a bit more on our dragon.
