Don't tell my mom, but I'm on TikTok

I say bad words, I've definitely flipped off the camera... it's like the PG-13 version of my writing life. It's been fun and I've already connected with a few new writer friends, which was the whole purpose of joining. No, I will not do that viral TikTok dance. Yes, you will see the cats and dog... and hopefully a new house here soon. Check out my profile.

I'm looking to do an AMA for you guys! You can ask questions about (almost) anything using this form. Not sure if that will be a newsletter feature or if I'll put a video together for you... it depends on the response. Big or small, ask away!

The Peace of Kallie (book 5 in the Warrior Series) has now graced the Amazon-sphere! There's one more book planned for publication in 2020, with the remaining four books in that series to be released 2021.

Podcast:

Confessions of a Writing Addict - This week I talked about strong female characters and each of my favorite ones to write. I also share some life updates and how much I hate endings.

Give it a listen, a subscribe on whatever platform you're listening on, and leave a rating! You can also reply to this email with your thoughts, suggestions, or writing confessions for a chance to be featured!

New Chapters:

Soul Collapsed - Writing the adult version of Finnley (Soul Series) has surprisingly been easy, mostly because she was brilliant to begin with. It's a lot of fun to play with her personality now but still give her a little bit of the 'younger', impulse-driven version we grew to love in the earlier books. Here's a great interaction between Finnley and Kiya.

She leaned forward and kissed my forehead. “You take it one day at a time and continue to fight for the people you care about. Whether you and Iz find your strength as a couple or as friends, I can guarantee she will be by your side. Same goes for Ryder, though probably as enemies over friends.” She smiled as I laughed. “But you will have a force behind you that no one can take away.”

“Family?”

“I was going to say your brain,” she replied, tapping the book in my lap which only made me laugh harder. “Yes, silly. Your family. Powers or not, family is the strongest bond, and you have a good one behind you.”

I nodded. “So, what would you do in my situation?”

She grinned. “I usually snuck out of House to go see your dad.”

“Really?” I asked. “You are encouraging me to leave House and go find the guy who makes my blood boil while he’s dangerously close to losing control of his powers?”

Mom pulled a cuff out of her pocket and held it up to me. “I’ve been listening to your thoughts for a couple hours now. You have a really good grasp and method behind Ryder’s powers. You might as well act on it now and see if it works.”

Made With Patrons:

Thanks to my awesome tribe over on Patreon for making these things possible:

You can help support my writing and get access to all of my material before it's published (yes, that includes future eBooks before their official release date). Your patronage helps me keep things going on all fronts, but especially giving you great stories to read. Head over to Patreon and join a tier for less than the price of one coffee a month! I'll send you free books as a thank you!

Outro:

Fun story - my entire writing catalog was corrupted. I lost everything. I'm just gonna drown myself in chocolate cake as I retype my entire backlog...

For now, I'm really enjoying going back through Soul Collapsed with my edits. I'm not sick of the book yet, but that time I'm sure will come soon... The slight break in writing and panicking about new material is probably good for me since house stuff is going to overwhelm me for the next month.

My question for you this week: what's one thing in your house that you can't live without? I'm quite attached to my desk now... otherwise I'd probably never get anything done! Do you have a favorite bowl, piece of furniture, backdrop on your wall that makes the room pop? Reply and let me know!
