7-Figure Weekly - sleep to get inspiration

Sep 08, 2024 10:43 pm

Ever feel uninspired even when you’re not doing work you 100% love? It’s nearly impossible to create from this mood. It’s happened to me too. Recently, I realized that part of my creative block came from feeling like my current projects didn’t light me up.

But instead of stressing about it, I decided to get clear on what I really want—and let the answers come to me naturally.

This is a technique I’ve used in the past. Because if you’re not sure what you want, it’s harder to achieve. However, when you’re clear on the end result, you’ll discover the path.

It’s like each step appears before you as you move forward.

When I went to bed on Tuesday night I simply asked myself, “what do I want?” Quickly I realized I was asking the wrong question. So I shifted my question to, “once I’m there, what does life look like?”

Then I imagined the outcome and fell asleep.

7-Figure Lesson - Create as Soon as Inspiration Sparks

I went to bed with a question and woke up with an answer.

When inspiration strikes, act fast. I was so inspired and excited about this new idea that I plotted out the entire go-to-market strategy in 4 minutes on my notes app.

It’s a reminder that clarity often follows when we trust the process and act on creative impulses. Next time you feel a spark of inspiration, try to capture it right away—you might be surprised by what you come up with.

The idea is so clear, simple, and has the potential to create a solid stream of revenue that I can manage with one contractor. And even better, it passes “The Morning Test” – bringing excitement so strong that it makes me want to get out of bed to work on it.

It’s even helped me to clarify my content. This feeling of extreme clarity is a result of creating as soon as inspiration sparks. Sometimes that means dropping everything else to write an outline. Anytime I have done this I’ve been rewarded with the results.

This week it was a clear idea of how to blend my personal brand, entrepreneurship, and a career. More on that next week. 😉

Looking Forward: What I Focused on This Week

If you’re anything like me, staying organized across different projects can feel like a juggling act. I use ClickUp to keep everything aligned, but some weeks are quieter than others—especially when prepping for big things ahead (like my upcoming travel in September). Here’s a quick snapshot of what I worked on this week:

  • Personal Brand: Outlined a script for a potential vlog, worked on my Cut30 homework, and wrote this edition of the 7-Figure Weekly.
  • You’ve Got Clients: Wrote and scheduled two newsletters, plus created automation to streamline my workflow.
  • Young Finances: Took a breather this week.
  • New Service (yet to be named): Outlined the services I want to offer and researched the tools to bring this vision to life.

It wasn’t a week full of big projects, but it’s all about laying the groundwork. The next two weeks are where the fun really begins. Between travels, I’ll be bringing my plan to life. I’m so excited that this is something I can do without interfering with my full-time job, but it also has the potential to grow into a full-time income.

You’ll be along for the ride as I create a simple sales page, begin outreach, and land my first clients.

What are you working on that excites you? Let me know—I’d love to hear your plans!

Just reply back :)
