Concussions and Eclipses, Oh My!
Apr 10, 2024 12:15 pm
Good Morning !
Did you see the eclipse this week? If so, did you travel for it? Or were you in its path? We had almost totality (I think like 98%). So we just camped out in the yard to watch. The kids loved it.
Life & Writing Updates
I hoped to be able to come to you all this week and tell you how amazing writing was going and that the sequel to Neverending Mercy was almost done, but . . .
On Easter Sunday, I gave myself a concussion (this was after having Covid just a couple weeks before). So screens have been hard for the past week and I've been dealing with migraines off and on Then, I ripped half a fingernail off opening my author copies. So that was fun (I hope you can hear my sarcasm. LOL).
I am on the mend, but it has definitely put a wrench in my writing plans. I'm hoping to get back to Nora & Kip's book soon because I really love their story and can't wait to share it with you! Plus, I already have my next four books after that lined up and I think you guys are going to love them!
Books for You
**I've not read all of these books, but have been told they are clean/closed door.
When a Texas gal punches a prince instead of curtsying, you know this isn't your grandmother's fairy tale.
My ex-boyfriend is engaged to my stepsister.
Yeah, it shocked me too. So much so, that when my ex tells me, I grab the first guy I see and pretend he’s my fiancé.
Somehow it only gets wilder from there, because the guy I grab happens to be Grayson Carter, notorious flirt and extrovert to the max. Also, the guy I turned down a month before while dating said ex-boyfriend.
Grayson surprisingly goes along with my plan, throwing pet names and flirty lines at me all while putting on this protective facade in front of my ex that makes my knees weak.
But when our little scene turns into a full-on scheme, I find myself questioning what’s real and what’s not.
The problem is, if it is real, I don’t know if I can risk loving someone like Grayson. I have a feeling if I gave him my heart, I’d never get it back.
I know I’m lucky to have a second chance at stardom. Disappearing when I was supposed to be on stage, then lighting my ex’s car on fire wasn’t my finest moment.
Hey. It was an accident.
Things were looking up when my manager-turned-new-boyfriend, Preston, got me back in the door. Life was good… until I had a front-row seat to him making out with another woman.
Bye, Preston.
Men were dead to me. Even Logan, the smokin’ hot publicist hired to repair my public image, couldn’t tempt me. As long as I ignored his heart of gold, heart-stopping smile, and that he’s willing to go along with my ridiculous plan to make Preston jealous by playing my fake date. Zero emotional attachment. Should be easy, right?
Wrong. So, so wrong.
Resisting Logan lasts all of five seconds. Sure he feels the same way, I have to work up the courage to tell him how I feel. The problem? Perfect guys attract perfect women, and that’s definitely not me. The show must go on, even with a shattered heart.
