Do you read books based on negative reviews?

Happy Wednesday !
What's the weather where you're at? We've had wind chills of -3 degrees and about two to three inches of snow. I'm freezing, but my kids had fun in the snow (even though it was too powdery for snowballs and not enough for snowmen).
Homeschooling
The other day we were doing school and I went to check my 9-year-old daughter's work and came across this gem (second line). I feel her. They're too much for me sometimes too. But they're still pretty cute and nonrefundable. LOL
I just ordered some more books to read alongside our History lessons and I'm excited to get them!
Negative Reviews
A friend of mine had a fun little post on Instagram the other day and I decided to make my own. Read my books based on their bad reviews.
In all seriousness, reviews, even negative ones, can tell a reader whether or not the book is for them. Not all books appeal to all readers (even books from the same author!) and that's okay! That's why there's a variety of books for a variety of readers.
Is Christian Fiction Low-Quality?
Earlier this week I posted on Facebook and Instagram about a concerning issue that keeps cropping up in Christian circles in regards to reading Christian fiction. Many believe that Christian writing is mediocre, cheesy, not up to par with the world, and only light & fluffy.
Of course, I have opinions about it (which is why I made a lengthy post). But my biggest questions to those who say this would be . . .
Does God not bless His own children with creative, wonderful storytelling?
Or are the only gifted storytellers those who don't even believe in Him?
I'd love for you to read the posts and weigh in with your thoughts.

Check out these books (some free, some discounted, some on KU!)
**I have not read all of these, but have been told they are clean and/or Christian.
Blessings!
