Happy Day Before Thanksgiving !

Today, my husband is baking rolls for Thanksgiving dinner and I'm making pies (peanut butter, of course), fruit salads, and a savory seven-layer salad. My sister is making cheesecake and my mom will be serving my must-have Thanksgiving side dish, sweet potato casserole.

What are your must-haves for Thanksgiving dinner?

WRITING UPDATE

We are 12 days away from the release of The Hart of Christmas and early reviews have started rolling in. It makes me so incredibly happy to see others enjoying this little Christmas story that has my heart. Dex and Millie may be my favorite couple I've written so far (shh...don't tell the others).

While you're waiting for December 4th to get here so you can snag your copy (or you can pre-order NOW!), enjoy this mood board and little snippet...

"His face reddens. “You weren’t supposed to laugh.”

Wiping a tear from my eye, I reply, “I never agreed to that.” I eye his red neck and cheeks, a smirk growing on my face. “Who’s blushing now, Dex?”

He shoots me a glare, but then something unexpected happens. Dex smiles. Like a legitimate smile. Not a smirk. Though, I have to admit that the man has the sexiest smirk I’ve ever seen.

What? No. No, he does not.

But this smile? It’s blinding. It’s carefree and happy and a pang of longing shoots straight through my chest. Because this looks like the Dex I knew in high school. The Dex who was my friend. The Dex who promised that he’d always be there for me.

Sudden tears spring to my eyes and I turn away before he can see them."

Coming from opposite worlds, what could possibly unite them?

Rejected, frustrated, and no longer confident about God's plan for his life, John Sweet takes a year-long assignment in Atlanta, Georgia. The city is bustling with preparations for the Cotton States and International Exposition to be held in the autumn of 1895. Sarah Fuller is also new to the city but is trying desperately to make a home for her lonely father and motherless little sister. When a special assignment for the Exposition puts John and Sarah in close contact, they discover that while their pasts are completely different, their future dreams are much the same. As their families create obstacles and opposition, will they be able to find a way forward together?

At Christmas 1945, with her family still reeling from the changes brought by World War II, Grandma Sarah tells her teenage granddaughter about the year that changed her life. Can her simple story bring the healing and perspective they both need to embrace a different future than they had planned?

This stand-alone Christmas prequel to the Sorrow and Song trilogy will transport you back to a Victorian Christmas, when the world was very different, yet the same longing for peace and purpose resounded in every heart.
