Life Update

The last two weeks have been a bit hectic in the Sexton household. It started when the engine light came on in our very old minivan. That's always fun, right?

Then, we got the call from the mechanic that there were so many leaks he wouldn't even know where to start. Cue our mad scramble to find another van ASAP. With three children still in car seats, our vehicle options are limited.

Thankfully, we were able to find a newer model of the van we had within our price range that very day! 🙌🏼 Except...two days later we found out the radiator fan was broken. 😅

During this time, I was making plans to fly to North Carolina to meet with the Christian Mommy Writers for a four-day retreat. I woke up the morning of my flight to major storms that had caused flash flooding...and I had to cancel my flights.

But God worked everything out! We got our van back later that day once the storms had calmed AND a group of Mommy Writers messaged me and offered to pick me up on their way to the retreat!

And it was AMAZING! We heard from so many great speakers, including Jaime Jo Wright, Pepper Basham & Kim Duffy (who were both there in person!), Amanda Dykes, Toni Shiloh, Joanna Davidson Politano, and more!

It was so much fun getting to meet these lovely ladies in person! I've known them online for over a year and we have grown close through our daily chats and praying for one another. But there is something special about getting to be with one another in person and I am already looking forward to next year's retreat!

As an introvert, it's really hard for me to make friends. But the online writing community has been such a blessing to me and I thank God that He's brought all these wonderful ladies into my life!

Writing Update

Please be in prayer with me as I begin working on book two in the Lavender Falls series. I have the first four chapters written and I am already falling in love with these two characters. Any guesses on who they are?
