Do you have RULES in your conversations?

Hi ,

Sooo, we had a rather interesting weekend kaya this email is kinda-ish late. I (Jeric) was trying to be Hidilyn Diaz in lifting the water gallon refill without the proper weightlifting technique and soooooo I kinda messed-up my back!

Kaya pasensya na Langga, ngayon lang ako nakasulat since I've been trying not to do anything yesterday. It is what it is, hindi na ako Gen Z or Baby Zoomer haha!

Speaking of Zoom, since most of us are doing Zoom calls nowadays, we might have forgotten the RULES of COMMUNICATING! Right? It's so easy to not be so personal nowadays given the situation we're in. More so, nakakatamad minsan umeffort in really being intentional in the way we communicate.

But by not doing so, we end up compounding the problems in our relationships more so with our loved ones. This episode is all about reminding you of those RULES.

We need to embrace these rules if we want our relationships to thrive with positivity.

We tackle here the following rules:

  • Make "I" statements, not "you" statements
  • Practice reflective listening
  • Understand and accept the differences between men and women
  • Apologize when necessary
  • Power down and get offline

“It is impossible to overemphasize the immense need we have to be really listened to, to be taken seriously, to be understood...No one can develop freely in this world and find a full life without feeling understood by at least one person” -  Dr. Paul Tornier

Langga, what rule resonates with you? Do you apply these rules in your relationships?

Hope to hear back from you as always!
