It's been a while, let's get to know each other again.

If you've been around for a while, you know how much I struggle with consistency when it comes to these newsletters. I never know what to say in them, I never know what to share or when.

I even subscribed to a few other authors' newsletters just to see what they're up to in order to gain some insight into what might work and even that didn't really inspire me. But you know what did?

I follow one author's SubStack, and you don't really need to know what that is to understand this story, but basically, she shares behind-the-scenes thoughts about being an author and the struggles we go through that might be useful to someone else going along in their career. It's meant to be by an author for authors when it occurred to me that the format she wrote in was really engaging for me. Even when the content wasn't useful for me, as an author, I still wanted to read it.

It felt like it was her diary, but she was sharing it with me.

So, that's exactly what I'm going to do.

I'm going to share the highs and lows of my writing with you guys in weekly doses (at least, this is my intention but we all know how great I am at that *insert sarcasm*).

To do that, I thought maybe it was best to re-introduce myself so you know who the major players are in my life and who I am. Some of you might not have heard from me in a while so a refresher is in order.

I'm Kylie Marcus! I used to write under Kyleigh Castronaro but I decided to transition my writing and refocus my publishing on short instalove romances. I love paranormal but I've also branched out into contemporary romance, which you'll find under this new name.

I'm married to my own instalover, the Sheriff, who I met on a ghost hunt in England. Now we have two munchkins--Little Man (3) and Little Lady (1) who I stay home with. Being home gives me the ability to write since the Sheriff is the one who works outside of the house. But these days, we do rely on my writing income as a means to pay the bills.

We have two weenie dogs and a cat, we love movies and TV, spending time outside, going on adventures and when I'm not writing or with my family, I refill my cup with crafts, puzzles, and board games. But I spend a lot of time writing :)

Part of my Q2 goals is to leverage this newsletter better so you can anticipate hearing from me a bit more going forward since I only have a few more weeks of Q2 left. So, if none of this intrigues you, you have no interest in reading my books and don't want to know about the new stuff coming up this summer, feel free to unsubscribe. I will miss you, but do what is best for you.

With love and magic,

Kylie xo
