Hi

Thanks for your interest in our Bush Play (Kids Drop Off) service for #kMR2025!

It will be available at our runHub on both Saturday and Sunday this year, for kids aged 5-12, offered by the incredible team from Free to Be. Bush Play and Learning.

Kids can be dropped off so you can run the:

- Mountain Run 25km (or Mountain Walk 25km)

- a leg in the Ultra Relay 66km

- the Foothills 9km on Sunday

How does it work?

✅ Sign the kids up now

👧🧒Drop them off at the Bush Play area at the runHub (it'll be well-signed) on event day

Rest assured that they’ll have an incredible time playing in the bush (totally supervised) and they can even make you a bush trophy for you when you cross the finish line🏆

👪 They probably won't want to leave, but we do ask that you pick them up once you're finished your run!

Please take note of these times an adult must be available to pick up/sign out the child by no later than the closing times:

Saturday: 8.30am - 3pm

Sunday: 8.30am - 11am

What if I'm anxious about leaving my kids?

We totally get that! What we can say is that Roxanne’s team are all extremely qualified. Roxanne is an experienced Early Years and Primary School teacher and Nature Play worker, with 2 adventurous boys of her own.

She ran the Bush Play (Kids Drop-off Service) for us at kMR in 2024 and you can see below what some of the parents had to say.

Plus there are regularBush Play Villages that you can join across Hobart, and meet Roxanne and her team before kMR.

Kids will truly love it

💦🎶🌳There will be water (mud!) to play with, treasure hunts, bush walks, songs to sing, books to read, shelters to build and so much more!

There are very limited places, so please ensure you book in now to avoid your kids missing out.

There is a fee (from $20* per child) which is payable when you book, plus booking fees. *please note that kMR is heavily subsidizing this service because we wholeheartedly believe in doing what we can to support parents, especially women, to be able #runwithkunanyi. Roxanne’s Free to Be team are all extremely qualified and we don’t want to undervalue the important work they do, but we don’t want this service to be cost-prohibitive.

If you have any questions for us, please don't hesitate to reach out. We can't wait to see your kids at Bush Play!
