Hi !

Did you see the big announcement from Salomon?

They're bringing their incredibly successful Golden Trail Series to Australia, and we were handpicked to be one of the events that are part of it in 2024!

Needless to stay, we're stoked. We reckon this is a great fit for us, and an amazing thing to help grow and nurture the sport of trail running in Australia.

Yes, it'll entice the country's top trail runners to kMR but we believe it'll also inspire everyday Tasmanians, to step out on to the trails and get those awesome health and wellbeing benefits so many of us are enjoying already!

What does it mean? What changes?

If you're in Tassie, we'd love for you to come along this week Wednesday so that we, along with the Salomon team, can share more about it!

The Hobart Trail Runners are kindly hosting us for a run, videos and chats at the Hobart Brewing Company, and we'll be joined by Salomon including the Tassie (and Vic) trail runner Brodie Nankervis (who you may recall is our new Triple Top Mountain Run course record holder, who has also represented Australia internationally).

Plus there'll be spot prizes up for grabs too (including a Salomon vest, Salomon shoes and entry to our Mountain Run!).

Bring a friend along and you double your chances of winning!

Importantly, kMR is still owned and operated by the very same Hobart team and we'll be working closely with Salomon to bring you the Golden Trail National Series, plus a whole lot of other cool stuff!

What is the Golden Trail National Series?

Three events (kMR, as well as Warburton Trail Fest in Victoria and Brisbane Trail Ultra)

At, kMR, the Mountain Run 25km (aka the legendary loop) is the Golden Trail National Series event

The ultimate GTNS prize winners get a funded trip to the World Series final in Europe (men and women in both the Open and under 23 age groups)!

And there are more details to come soon, including the rules and points systems.

Salomon will share some of that info this Wednesday night, when we hope you can come along for a run, and enjoy the longer (and warmer!) nights, doing cool things with our great community!

We acknowledge the palawa people of lutruwita as the traditional owners of the land on which we live, work and run. We respect their culture and ongoing custodianship of the land. We pay our respect to all Tasmanian Aboriginal people, and Elders past, present, and emerging.
