Every third week of the month, the good folks of Applied Practice host their Free-Response Friday.
Last year, they released an amazing prompt that spotlighted Jim Gaffigan's "Food: A Love Story."
As a follow up, I created a writing workshop video that contains the following:
1. Guided Reader's Response Questions to help students and teachers unpack the text's complexity (these can be used for gamification or edutainment purposes)
2. A step-by-step writing tutorial in which I "paint" the entire essay right before your student's eyes --- everything from thesis construction, topic sentences, embedding quotes, textual support, textual analysis, etc. ---- it's all in there.
