Last year prior to covid, I worked with Tina Lamphere and her ELA department located near Fort Collins, Colorado. Even before Zoom was a “thing,” we got together over a five-day period and hammered out everything that my Masterclass entails.
Her two rookie colleagues are joining me on Monday for the start of the next session.
In catching up, Tina shared with me that 108 students last year took AP Language and 92 sat for the AP Literature exam.
Combined, they had a 94% qualification rate.
That’s amazing!
I worked with Tina and her colleagues at the end of August right before the start of the academic year. From day one, they hit the ground running with my templates and alternative grading methods. The students immediately took to a new writing paradigm and thrived. We made engaging content and made sure to cover all of the expository modes. Further, we scaffolded the learning so that even the younger, emerging students could learn to write syllogistically.
Here’s a quick excerpt from a letter Tina sent me earlier this week:
We can’t thank you enough for your patience and continual oversight of our implementation as we tweaked and honed your methods. Man … did it pay off! Even in the midst of a pandemic, our AP kids rocked the exam. All of our students that gave us an iota of effort improved drastically in their writing. So, go work your magic with Brian and Sheila [new teachers in next Masterclass].
This summer my Masterclass is being offered on an individual basis. So yes, you – and you alone – can enroll.
The next session begins on Monday the 12th and will go until the 16th. We will meet each day at 11 a.m. EST for an hour. I have a few seats left available at the discounted price.
If you’d like more information, please reach out. We can also schedule a discovery call should you like.
