Reviewing this year's AP Exams

image

Maybe it's because I am an odd duck, but I actually enjoy taking tests.

Given this, I wrote each FRQ for Set I of the AP Literature & Composition Exam.

And I plan on doing this for AP Language & Composition in the coming days (Both Sets).

It's a great practice, because if I struggle with any aspect of the exam, I have immediately identified a weakness in my teaching arsenal.

So, in today's writing workshop videos, I present to you all 3 FRQS from Set I.

In each video, I "Bob Ross" how to write the entire essay from start to finish all while pulling the strings of my template.

FRQ 1 (Alice Cary's "Autumn")

FRQ 2 (Nisa Shawl's Everfair)

FRQ 3 (Reinvent)

Couple of notes:

✏️ Please subscribe to my new YouTube channel. I've upped my recording game big time and am going in a bit of a different direction. Ideally, teachers can just pop in my video, sit back, and have ready-made content as far as writing instruction goes.

✏️If you want any of the FRQ slides, just drop me a line at [email protected]

✏️ The National Writing Project and I will be hosting AP English FRQ Bootcamp this summer. This is going to be an amazing PD opportunity for any teacher looking to shore up how to teach the "composition" aspects of the course. We will look at the entire gamut and arsenal - everything from my Nuance and Word Study academy ... and all things templates. Individual sessions will be offered for Lang. and Lit. Follow the link for more information, or simply drop me a line.
