During my time serving as a lead instructor for The National Writing Project, a few things became abundantly clear to me:
- While modeling how to write for our students is a powerful and transformative classroom practice, the prospect of writing in front of students can be a terrifying prospect
- Even though ELA teachers have spent countless hours (even years) learning and honing their craft, 91% of us were never explicitly taught how to teach writing during our practicums
- Every teacher's needs are unique given varying classroom dynamics, course loads, district constraints, etc.
For these reasons, I decided to offer my Teach It "Write" 5-Week 1:1 Mentorship.
In a nutshell, we will meet on five separate occasions over Zoom for 90-minutes per session (together we will coordinate the schedule). Over this span of time, we can custom make a course that best meets your classroom needs, whether it be a deep-dive into my Nuance Academy, Word Study Academy, Alternative Grading Methods, my Bob Ross methods, or even my groundbreaking writing heuristics that will ensure that your students flourish and grow exponentially in their compositional abilities.
In my 20+ year career, I have taught the gamut - all things AP (both Lit. and Lang.), college composition, on-level 9-12, even credit recovery.
If you're looking to truly improve in all areas of your writing instruction, this is a perfect course for you ... whether you be a rookie teacher or seasoned veteran.
My website recently underwent a significant face-lift, so you can learn more about this program from hopping over to my page.
Reach out if you have any questions or want to discuss the course in more detail.
Happy teaching and happy writing!
