One thing I promise my Masterclass students is my time.
Heather Rush, a teacher in Provincetown, Massachusetts reached out to me when she was three weeks into the Masterclass and asked for help. Her struggling and emerging writers were having a bit of difficulty crafting their 1st premises for a synthesis essay and she didn’t quite know how to troubleshoot. Further, she really wanted to try one of my alternative grading methods but felt like she needed me to look over her shoulder.
So what we did was have me be a guest in her class via Zoom. I hosted a writing workshop with her “stuck” students and showed them an amended version of the syllogistic method known as the literary sandwich.
Worked like a charm. Their revisions looked superb.
And then we did my “Battleship” alternative grading method.
