I wanted to fix a phone's TouchPad today so I went to Alaba market.

And just before I went to buy the TouchPad from my customer, I met one of my smartphone engineering bosses who I learn from every now and then...

...and I showed him the phone and described the issue to him.

After I told him that I wanted to change the TouchPad, he said "turn the phone to the back let me see".

He took one look at the phone, and without touching it, he told me...

"That phone no dey get TouchPad. You go change the complete screen."

Meanwhile I had dismantled the phone, plus I had spent transport money in coming to the market...

...with the intention of changing the TouchPad. And I was so sure of what to do.

But without even lifting a finger, my boss figured out the real problem that I needed to tackle.

What am I trying to say?

Sometimes you think you know enough to successfully do something.

And heck, you may have been doing it and even getting some results.

But if you think you know everything and you don't need anybody to correct you or offer expert advice? You might need to change that mentality.

If I hadn't sought for advice from my boss, do you think I would have saved my time trying to figure out the real solution to the problem?

Heck, don't you think I would have wasted money in buying the wrong phone part?

And who would I have to blame in the end?

Myself.

So next time you think you know everything, think again.

To your digital success,

King Danisan™.
