Lesson from an Okada rider at the bus stop

,

This morning on my way to school, I took a bike to the nearest bus stop where I can board a bus.

And when we got to the bus stop, there were a lot of "Okada" riders at the bus stop.

Some of them were just dropping off their passengers.

Many of them were actively calling out for potential passengers.

And then there were others who just stayed there doing nothing.

They were just there sitting on their bikes and looking around, without necessarily calling on any passenger.

But what caught my attention was that despite the fact that they weren't necessarily calling for passengers,

Occasionally, someone would walk up to one of them and ask them to take them to their destination.

And they didn't even have to lift a finger to make that transaction happen.

Just by virtue of them being at the bus stop, they had the opportunity of getting passengers without necessarily having to work hard for it.

And it got me thinking about the power of positioning in marketing, business and life in general.

There are certain opportunities and breakthroughs that you will miss, or never even come across in your life if you are wrongly positioned.

Being in the right place at the right time can often be the difference between someone who gets massive results and someone who struggles to get the same results.

And just to be clear,

Being correctly positioned doesn't serve as an excuse to not put in any effort.

If you're an Okada rider at the bus stop and you don't call for passengers through the entire day,

The other riders at the bus stop who call passengers will make a whole lot more money than you will that day.

Being correctly positioned isn't enough to help you succeed in any endeavour.

But it does give you a sizeable headstart.

Especially because of the kind of opportunities you get exposed to, by virtue of your correct positioning.

So here's my word for you today.

Strive to position yourself correctly in any industry you are playing in.

Study and research your field of interest, and figure out where the money is flowing to.

Then position yourself correctly such that the money and opportunities can flow to you easily.

Then work super hard to milk the opportunities that come to you as much as possible,

Just like the Okada riders who keep calling for passengers at the bus stop.

Run with this word today.

To your business' success,
