How To Cut Through Noise

,
Trying to sell to people, especially Nigerians these days can prove to be very difficult if you don't know what you are doing.
Especially because there are a lot of marketers and copywriters out there who have written lots of copy...
And used a lot of marketing angles to sell their own products and the products of their clients.
It is so bad now that it almost seems like every marketer out there is saying the exact same thing.
And if you don't find a way to (make your message) stand out from the crowd,
Both you and your marketing message will be lost in the noise of the market.
This begs the question of...
How do you make your marketing message so clear and laser focused...
That it cuts through the noise on the internet marketing space like a hot knife cuts through butter...
And stands out so much that it makes people rush your products?
There are two invaluable techniques you can use to achieve this.
Mastering how to use them both (because they go hand in hand) will give you an edge in your marketing journey, and help you get amazing results.
And I will talk about them in a moment.
But before I do that, there's something I need to get out of the way first.
Many people usually run away from learning copywriting because it has to do with writing,
Forgetting that as long as they are in the business of selling, then they can't escape copywriting, except they don't want to make massive sales.
But that is not even where I am going.
Many people think the hardest part of copywriting is writing.
That is an enormous lie from the pit of hell that you have been made to believe.
Because the hardest part of copywriting isn't writing.
The hardest part of copywriting is THINKING.
Before you can successfully put a group of words together that pull in hundreds of thousands and millions of Naira in sales,
Then your thinking has to be on another level.
Especially because the market is getting more and more sophisticated by the day.
So you need to do a lot of thinking, before you even write one word of copy.
You have to think about...
• Your research information,
• Your target audience,
• Their pains, desires, dreams, fears, etc,
• The features and benefits of the product you are writing for,
• Marketing angles to come in with,
• Your USP,
• Your UMP and UMS,
• Your Big Idea,
• The One Belief or promise of transformation,
• Among other things.
Some of these terms may sound strange to you now, but we will cover them in the future.
But the bottomline is this.
If you don't get the thinking part right, then your copy is already dead on arrival, and that's not a curse.
That's why there is a "movement" of copywriters on Twitter called "Copy-THINKERS".
Coming back to two of the things you need to make your marketing message stand out in the market,
I will be explaining one of them right now which I have already mentioned above, and the other maybe tomorrow.
And what I will be explaining is the USP, which means your Unique Selling Proposition.
Most people confuse USP with Big Idea.
But they are fundamentally very different, even though they appear similar.
What is a USP?
A Unique Selling Proposition is that thing that differentiates your product, service or brand from your competitors.
It could be a specific benefit, or feature, or attribute that sets you apart from others in the market place.
It is that ONE thing is unique to you alone.
This USP can be the reason why people will choose to buy from you instead of others, even if you sell similar products.
For example, there are lots of smartphones out there in the market today.
But only one brand stands out from the others, and is evidently the most sought after brand of smartphones in the market right now.
I'm sure you know the brand of smartphones I am referring to by now.
The reason why apple smartphones stand out from other smart phones (their USP) is their operating system (iOS), and the unique design of the devices.
That alone makes a lot of people want to use apple smartphones (iPhones).
Do you get it now?
Good.
The moment you figure out your USP and spell it out clearly to your audience, you will find them flocking towards your brand,
And they will buy a lot of your products.
Makes sense?
Good.
Now go and implement and thank me later.
Meanwhile, we will talk about Big idea tomorrow.
Have a lovely evening.
To your digital success,
Daniel.
PS: This is me still reminding you to indicate if you will like to be on my new list, while you still can.
Please note that if you get on the new list and do not read my mails, I will remove you from the list.
Because I cannot be paying money to send mails to people who don't bother to read them.
That makes no sense.
So if you want the valuable emails I am dishing out, and you are sure you will keep reading them consistently,
Then reply to this message with your full name and your best email address if you haven't,
And I will take it up from there.
Peace!
