All it took was ONE LOOK.

Jul 27, 2023 9:11 am

A while back I put out an offer to my audience...

And I promoted it aggressively for some days non-stop...

And I even paid for an advert for the offer.

But despite all of this, the offer failed woefully.

It was so bad that only one person signed up for the offer.

Needless to say, I was disappointed and saddened by it.

But I'm not here to talk about my disappointment or why the offer didn't do well.

That will be for some other day.

But here's what I want to bring out.

While I was promoting the offer or before I started promoting it (I can't really remember anymore)...

I met a mentor and friend of mine - who happens to be a student in my school - to ask for some advice on how to go about promoting the offer.

And after taking just one good look at the flier and the offer content...

He immediately pointed out a problem with the offer.

All it took was just one LOOK.

And when he pointed it out, it was so glaring that I felt ashamed.

It became apparent that if I didn't do enough research or really think the offer through before putting it out there.

And sure enough, after all I did to promote it, it performed poorly.

And aside from what he pointed out, there were probably a few other things that contributed to the poor performance of the offer.

But again like I said, today is not the day I am going to dissect the reasons why the offer failed.

But here's one thing I want you to know.

Having an "outside eye" to take a look at your copy, marketing messages or offers...

Is one of the most priceless privileges you can ever have as an upcoming copywriter or marketer.

Because many times, there are a number of errors in thought, mechanism, understanding of audience, copy flow, etc...

That you won't be able to spot on your own.

And you will need the expert eyes of another copywriter or marketer to spot them.

And if you send out those copy or offers out like that, you will be disappointed by how poorly they will perform.

That's why I don't joke with feedback.

I always try to get feedback on my copy and offers from my mentors and other copywriters in my community.

And this is what getting feedback does for you.

- It helps you know your weak areas that you need to work on

- It helps you improve dramatically

- It helps you measure your growth i.e whether you have grown a lot or no growth has happened

- And it helps to build your confidence as well

So it's a good practice if you ask me.

Always ask for feedback.

And if you don't know who to ask for feedback,

Start building a network and community of professionals/skilled persons in the same niche as you...

And begin to intentionally build a relationship and rapport with them...

Such that you can begin to always get to ask them for feedback and constructive criticism.

It will help you a lot, trust me.

You are welcome.

That said, I hope you have a great day ahead.

To your digital success,

- King Danisan™.

P.S. In the coming days, I will start promoting the "Newbie To Pro E-commerce Guide" Special Report aggressively.

I am just putting a few things in place before I do.

And once the required number of slots are taken, you will have to pay the normal launch price.

Oh and that reminds me.

The launch price will now be N2499 and no longer N2250.

Take note.

Ciao.
