How to cut through the noise

Apr 30, 2025 4:01 pm

,

It’s been a rollercoaster of a couple of days.

From the unexpected power outages that lasted for hours on end, days even,

To my body threatening to want to cave in to malaria again, mostly because I stubbornly refused to finish my dosage once I started feeling better (stop judging me, “let him that hath no sin be the first to cast a stone” 🌚),

To the overwhelming backlog of work that is now threatening to mess around with my mental health,

I somehow lost the momentum I was trying to rekindle, so that I can finally complete this 30-Day Business Lessons Series

So far, we have done 24 emails, and this is email 25.

Here’s to hoping I get to finish the series without any further interruptions.

To that effect, I’m seeking your assistance in making sure this happens.

So if you don’t see my email at least once each day, for the next five days after today,

You have my permission to “press my neck”, both here, on WhatsApp or wherever you can find me.

Let’s work together to help me beat procrastination, while shilling you some golden undiluted and practical business wisdom, shall we?

Speaking of business wisdom, you’re entitled to one business lesson in this email.

So let’s get right into it.

Many times, I’ll walk into a room in my hostel, and I’ll find the members of the room engaging in heated arguments.

These arguments usually range from common topics like football or politics, to the strangest of topics.

And oftentimes, these arguments are so passionate, that even I can’t hear myself when trying to make my sales pitch.

Most times, I either wait for a couple of seconds to see if I can find a window of opportunity when the noise reduces so I can pitch my products,

Or I just leave the room and go to the next room.

Because I know that if I keep pitching my products, knowing fully well that my message isn’t getting across to the audience,

I might as well be punching air.

And that’s usually the way it is when you as a business owner are in an industry that is already saturated.

Everyone is basically “shouting” or saying the same thing.

And they are so loud that it seems your voice can’t even be heard.

In cases like this, you need to find a way to break through the noise

Something to amplify your voice.

Something to help you stand out from the crowd.

Something to make your marketing message cut through the noise like a hot knife through butter

This is where a Big Idea comes in.

A Big Idea in copywriting is basically a fancy way of presenting a “mundane” or “normal” idea in a way that sounds fresh, new and exciting.

It’s basically taking a regular idea or something people might be familiar with (or not), and turning it into something that sounds unique and interesting.

You need a certain level of skill to be able to pull this off successfully, and it can take a while to master.

But if you can learn how to turn simple ideas into Big Ideas,

That skill will change your business forever!

Heck,

It will change your LIFE forever!

So here’s my assignment for you today.

Ask yourself;

“What’s the core idea/message behind my product or business?”

And then after you answer that, ask yourself this;

“How can I present this core idea in a way that is completely new, fresh and exciting to my audience?”

Do that, and you’re already on your way to using big ideas to craft the life you desire.

Do it as a fun exercise, and let me know what you come up with.

I’ll be waiting to hear from you.

See you tomorrow.
