Life lately.

,

I have been trying to bring myself to write to you for the past couple of weeks.

But I just haven't been able to bring myself to do it.

You know that kind of situation when you have a plan to do certain things,

And then all of a sudden, life happens with one event, and another, and then another.

And you just keep procrastinating what you said you were going to do, until you end up never doing it.

Thankfully, I'm writing to you now.

So basically that's why I've been quiet on here.

And the major thing that happened over the past couple of weeks was that one of my coursemates went to be with the Lord.

And needless to say, I — as well as my entire class and department — was deeply shaken by it.

Not just because we lost a friend and coursemate.

But because of the kind of person he was and who he was to us.

He was jovial, happy, kind, bold, smart, hard working and intentional.

And as I told a couple of my friends a few days ago, he was a man on a mission.

And just like that, he's gone.

It breaks my heart as I write this, but his passing forced me to stop and think about a lot of things.

About how life is so short and fickle.

About how the things we think matter are the things that matter the least.

About how it's the little things you do and who you are to people that you will be remembered for, not your achievements.

About how you can be here now and gone in an instant.

About how little time we all have to spend on earth.

About how we need to make the most of the time we have to spend here on earth.

About leaving a legacy behind wherever you go.

About becoming so valuable that you're basically irreplaceable.

About discovering your purpose early in life.

About living a purpose filled life.

About learning how to sell your vision to people and getting them to run with it alongside you.

About how we all have limited time to discover our purpose and run with it.

And about how we will all give account of how we spend our life.

All of these are lessons Williams’ life (not just his death) has taught me.

And personally, I've decided I'm going to be even more intentional with the way I live my life.

So that whenever I do leave this earth — hopefully when I'm old and grey-haired — I'll be able to look back at a fulfilled life and thank God that I didn't waste my life.

Just like Williams didn't waste his, even though he didn't get to spend enough time here with us.

That said, I'm currently in my exam season in school.

That means that pretty soon, I might have to cut down on a lot of my activities.

From emailing, to posting content on IG, WhatsApp and TikTok.

Because that 5.0 GPA must be bagged this semester.

So I'll try to send you an email as often as I can during this period.

And then resume fully after my exams.

Whatever you're doing in your life in this season,

I'm rooting for you.

See you soon.
