How on earth do you expect that to happen {{contact.first_name}}?

,
It happened again.
I don't know how, but somehow, it happened.
Despite how much care and effort I put into making sure everything went smoothly,
At the end of the day, it still happened.
At this point, I am so angry at myself and confused.
I don't even know what to do or how to solve this problem.
In just a moment, maybe I will tell you about this problem.
Meanwhile, pay attention to what I'm about to tell you.
Before I went to school I usually sold (and still sell) phone accessories like earphones, airpods, chargers, USB cords, memory cards and the likes.
I was doing it on a small scale, with just family, friends and a few other people knowing that I sold those things.
This was because I was extremely shy (I still am by the way).
When I just got into my hostel at school for the first time, being in a building literally full of people in each room, my timidity kicked in and I didn't tell anyone about my small business.
Not about the phone accessories (even though I had some of the goods with me) and not about the fact that I repair phones as well.
Plus, the whole hostel lifestyle was not it for me.... (I love my space yunno and quite frankly, there I didn't have any privacy to myself).
Little by little, I started adjusting sha.
One fateful day, someone walked into the room I was and started marketing his goods.
Before then, I had noticed other people do the same; going from room to room marketing all kinds of goods from cupcakes to toast bread to perfumes to clothes and even the same phone accessories that I sell.
On that day, this particular guy was marketing phone accessories in my room,
And I reacted by telling him that we had someone in the room who sold accessories.
My roommates that were there responded by asking me who the person was.
When I told them it was me, they were surprised and asked me;
"Why you no tell us na?"
"People dey come this room dey sell earpiece for us since and we dey buy. You wey dey sell dey here and you no talk"
I responded sheepishly with;
"They were in my bag".
One of them said;
"Na your bag go buy them from you abi"
I had no answer to that question.
Funny enough, I was in dire need of money during that period.
Needless to say, from that day, I ditched my timidity and began going from room to room marketing and selling my products,
And since then, I started making some sales little by little,
And soon, a lot of people began to know that I sold those things.
Looking back, I now remember some very important marketing lessons from that day that I want to share with you.
Look,
Before anybody buys anything from you (especially online), you must have successfully gotten them to pass through a process first.
This process can be summarized into 3 stages,
And, it is called the KLT process.
K = Know
L = Like
T = Trust
Let's talk about the KNOW stage for a bit.
Before anyone buys anything from you, the person has to know that you exist or that your product exists in the first place.
They don't know about your product or your service, and you're expecting them to buy it,
How on earth do you expect that to happen?
No be juju be that?
It's not rocket science yunno.
You can't be hoping to make sales running into millions of Naira when the people who know about your product or service are not even up to 50 or 100.
Sales is a game of numbers.
The more people that know about your product, the more people you can sell to, and ultimately the more money you stand to make.
In fact, there is a conversion rule in marketing called the 1% Rule.
The rule simply states that you should only expect 1% of your leads or prospects to buy your products.
To illustrate this more vividly,
If you want to make 10 sales, Multiply that number by 100.
That's the number of people that need to see your marketing message for your product, service or offer in order for you to reach your goal of 10 sales.
Don't get me wrong.
If you play your marketing game right and apply Copywriting well, you can have a conversion rate of as high as 10% or even higher,
But in order to avoid disappointment, or for you to not start doubting the power of copywriting and marketing, it's better to set a much lower expectation of 1%.
Hence, to make more sales, get more and more people to know about your product or what you're doing.
See ehn , if you're shy to sell, hunger go kee you.
Sapa will just pack his load and become your roommate.
You just have to make noise about what you do everywhere you can.
On WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn and everywhere you have digital real estate.
Preach the gospel of your business to the world, because if you don't, no one will do it for you...
At least not when you're just starting out.
Another important thing you should know about this KNOW stage is that, it's not enough for your customer to just know about your product.
There are about 5 stages of customer awareness, and I'm not about to delve into all of that right now,
But it's important that you educate your audience about their problems.
- Some people don't even know that they have a problem.
- Some know about the problem but don't know that a solution exists.
And unless you bring it to their attention, you might just be wasting your time making noise about your product,
Because they may not see reasons why they need your product or why it is a good fit for them.
If you fail to educate them, you will be leaving a lot of money on the table.
And you don't want that, or do you ?
I didn't think so.
Go and implement this and thank me later.
Now, remember at the beginning of this mail, I said I wanted to tell you about a problem.
Scroll up.
Seen it?
Good.
I'll tell you about it,
But not today,
Or maybe I'll just keep it to myself las las.
Let me see if I can solve the problem first with God's help.
Meanwhile,
Have yourself a nice day ahead.
To your digital success,
